Question. Are any Busse lovers surprised or disappointed that the new offerings are only two pieces that seem to me to be very similar. I have read on various forums how Busse fans were so anxious and anticipating the reopening of Busse's website. Then, when it opened, there seemed to be little new under the sun.

Speaking for myself, I would like to order a Busse but there always seems to be little to choose from. Swamp Rat seems to be the same way. They're only offering a single piece, the folder.

What am I missing and how do you guys maintain you enthusiasm for these products?

Bill

I just ordered my first Busse, (make that two CG FBM), and i think its all about supply and demand. I think that they want to keep u hungry. (Smart Biz)
And check Swamp Rats Company store, they have the M6 for sale. (i just got one of them too):jerkit:

A Battle Mistress is The "cream of the crop" so to speak. Not often offered and they generally command high premiums on the secondary market even if used.

I don't think you'll a better opportunity offered by Busse. I just grabbed an LE and feel like I have bought the "holy grail" of knives. :)

Welcome aboard - the release of the FBM was one of the most anticipated events in the last couple of years. I'm sure the order #'s are already at a record pace. You are dealing with a top of the line product here that will out perform anything you want to put it against. It also has the best no questioned asked customer service policy's that I have ever come across. So if you get one you can rely on being able to pass it along to your grandchildren. Another bonus, even used it almost always retains or increases in value.

There are many ways to acquire new Busse's not only from the home site but also the Company Store, the forums, that on line auction site, and then there are the much coveted Extravaganzaaaaaas that Jerry throws.

As for the enthusiasm, well being here is a big part of it. This is undoubtably one of the friendliest forums out there with a unique group of folks. Hang around for a while, pop a cold one and you will see what I mean. :D

To answer your question I think you are missing a lot.

I'm a very new Busse fan, I just got interested in July and bought my first one about July 15th and now I have purchased 14 Busses of 7 distinct models in about seven weeks. Only one came from the secondary market and none were custom. That could easily have been 16 of 9 different models but I couldn't see myself using a War Bore for anything nor an AK-47.

So I can't understand anyone saying that there are not knives available in adequate variety.

Sorry if this sounds abrasive; I do not intend that, but I just don’t understand your comments as they are far from my experience.

Wow! Tony the HOG is in the house! :D

Heck of a way to start of at the trough.

Well I was motivated...

Now I only hang around to read Skunk's Jokes.

Lets see..........
Two AK47's, One Hell Razor, One Mole Jack, One Heavy Heart, Six Game Wardens, One Force One, One BARF, I mention how many Battle Mistresses I just ordered plus several Swamp Rats all in 4 weeks time since I discovered Busse.

It's not too hard to find what you're looking for (keep an eye out in the exchange or post a want to buy thread).

The variety of offerings that I have found definitely keeps my enthusiasm up.

After four beers, the credit card, computer and Busse website magically appeared in front of me. I ordered both knives offered.

The wife will kill me, but she will get over it. She always does. :D

Questions:

Now that I am jumping into INFI head first- from order to delivery- how much time are we talking about before I get my FBM and FBMLE in my hands?

Ed-

Interested in parting with that Force One? :D :D

My experience has been that it is easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. :D

Small batches= high quality! Also consider most of the most desirable custom knife makers are 1 to three year wait for any given model not to mention other industries like custom bicycles.

Hi Loki,

Sorry, I cant part with it right now (Heck, I cant even keep my hands off it), You'll be the first on my list to contact if I decide to part with it.

Mine has a modified tip worked over at the Busse shop when purchased by the original owner, it looks a bit like a bigger NARK to me (I LOVE the look and feel of it).

Won't leave ya hangin though, here's a couple of pics......

Timewise I was told it may be anywhere from 10-18 weeks till they charge the cards but that was a very rough estimate as there are still orders coming in.

I think there's plenty of Busse's goin around. Here, knifeforums, usualsuspects , that "online auction site" and buddies who are fellow collectors. Just post a WTB or Trade and usually you get responses. There are always a few diff models especially some of the newer ones poppin up for sale, rats too.

Part of the thing that keeps me soo jazzed up are the guys in here, if it werent for the major hogs and hungry piglets always riellin up the trough here I dont think it would be as much fun, nor make scorin em as fun. Heck part of the fun for me is scorin em cuz I know there arent so many floatin around the company store at times. I've missed many and gotten a few, but the few you get make you feel like someone just handed you an all day pass to Disney world and the Parks just for you and yours:D. Sounds corny I know but hay he asked what keeps my enthusiasm up.

OH did I mention Jerry and the guys make a kick @$$ product too

You are spot on with the wait times, but Randall which is not too far down the road from me is now up to a 52 month wait. Two weeks sounds better and better. :)

I'm hoping for a merry Christmas.

I was told 8-12 weeks, 12 weeks would be late November.

If things happened any faster, I would be really broke.

I'm too tired to search/research, but I remember Jerry posting on the protocol of production and how the model releases would be better. Then again, crap hits the fan and models are not released monthly as anticipated. But, Jerry does his best to throw out over runs and extravaganzaa's too in helping with our addictions. I am actually glad that a new model only comes out every couple months and not monthly. Can you imagine a new model each month?!? I would be broke so far, I would be in debt.

Nap time....
