New offroad racing game?

Hey guys, been playing 4x4 Evolution off and on for many years now and was curious what else is out there these days which would offer similar dynamics (really enjpoy the upgrade variability) with better graphics/physics? Not necessarily the newest, bestest but something cool to replace it? For reference, running a Athlon 64 X2 with ATI3200 graphics chipset in my Gateway laptop and it runs Half-Life 2 and other Source games just fine, but anything much more demanding would be pushing it...

I have a copy of the latest version of Richard Burns Rally, and it's quite good if you like rally racing. Physics appear to be considerably better than any of the other rally games I've tried.
"Dirt", released last year, had promise, but the rally portion was dreadfully "arcade". The brakes were like toggle switches...
However, they spent a little time on the CORR-type truck closed-circuit racing, and I found that to be pretty decent. Lots of scary sideways action.
Dirt-2 is available now; I plan to try the demo shortly. It's getting decent reviews by the gaming sites, but I haven't checked into the "racing sim" sites to see what they think of it.
