I've been after a custom wharnie and liked several I've seen from Ohta. The problem with most of them (not just his) is they're a little too short for me. I contacted Ohta and asked that he make me a #109 but lengthen it a little. Well, he produced a #133.( His model number for a long #109?) I recieved it Saturday and boy is it a beauty. It got a handle that's 4" and the blade's 3.25" . Nice traditional shield, jigged bone and some smooth snap and pop. I can even pinch it open! Mr Ohta has outdone himself with this one. It's a perfect knife for me!

He is a great knife maker, I sure wish I could afford one. Agreed on the wharnecliffe slipjoints I've seen too.

Very Nice! Ohta's #109 Rodgers Wharncliffe has long been my favorite of his patterns, and yours offers even more to like about it.

I have 4 and one of my favorites is a small "Camper" in ivory, beautiful!

A pinchable warncliff sounds right up my alley!

Looks like a real winner in hand!

I've always liked that pattern. I wish the cap was fluted though.

Ya know, I never really thought about the cap being fluted or not. Seems like many have both ends fluted or neither. I'm loving this one though......

I have an older one with flutes at both ends, but he seems to have moved to a single flute around four or five years ago. I think they look nice either way.
