Hi all, I’m new to the forum.

I guess I’ve gotten into knives later in life than most. For almost 20 years I carried a Victorinox pocket knife, but it finally needed to be replaced this past year. So just like I do with everything else I plan to buy, I looked online for reviews. I guess I’ve been shielded from this hobby, but I never realized knives were such a big thing, nor did I realize there were custom knives and that a pocket knife could look so nice and also be so expensive.

So after some research, I purchased a Benchmade Bugout in October. It’s a nice knife, very light for EDC. However, after buying this I became addicted to watching a few of the knife review YouTube channels, and the more they showed off expensive fancy knives, the more I wanted one.

I don’t do any kind of outdoor stuff like hunting, fishing or even camping, so my need for a knife is purely for simple office stuff like opening boxes, mail, etc. So my preference is for something small in size. Once I saw Nick Shabazz’s review of the Olamic Busker, I knew that was what I wanted. I did consider a few others like the Small Sebenza, Rike Thor 4, and Medford Eris, but in the end I decided on the Busker.

I ordered a couple of weeks ago, and received my knife today. Olamic was a pleasure to work with. I must have gone back and forth with them about a dozen times over email asking tons of questions about all the different customization options. So here it is:

So far I really love this knife. In person it looks even better than in the pictures, and even though I’ve never handled a front flipper before, it took all of 2 minutes to learn how to flip it reliably. The flipping action is great.

Love that Acid Rain treatment. Olamic is great to work with!

Welcome to the Addiction. You'll find lots of enablers here. Your money is so easy for us to spend.

It's a great knife from a great company. It's also fun to have it customized to your specs. I don't know how they are able to offer all the options that are possible, but I love mine. Congrats!

Yeah, it’s amazing how many options they do offer. I had lots of trouble narrowing down what I wanted. There are so many nice finishes and color combos. Those jeweled handles with polished anodized hardware look amazing, as does the blue seabed “rock” handles with the gold nugget backspacer.

After much thought, I decided that I actually want to carry this knife as my EDC, and therefore with most of the fancy finishes, I think I would be too afraid of scratching the knife. Then I saw the stonewashed finish, and decided I like it. It’s not as fancy looking as some of the other finishes, but it should be much more durable in the long run.

I think it just shows how creative Olamic/Eugene is, not wanting to be bogged down by just a couple of options but really being able to go to town. I have an all DLC Scalloped Harpoon Wayfarer I'm thinking about getting modded and made my own. I like it as is a lot but since it was a lucky coincidence that the Serial # by chance turned out to be my birthday (day/month) I will definitely keep it and make it my own!

Great company and great knives. Customer service is fantastic. Awesome looking Busker. Must be ultra light with those sales. Love stonewash, likes it’s already used. Don’t have to worry about scuffing it.

You've got the acid rain handle pattern, which reduces the weight somewhat. How do you find the balance of the knife? I wonder whether it may be improved with the lighter handle. Do you think that the holes in the handle impacts your grip on the knife?

Beautiful knife. Olamic makes some great knives. I have the Swish and love it.

Congrats! I love my Busker. Wow from a Vic to a BM to an Olamic... that is some leap. Welcome to the addiction... say goodbye to every other lunch and or coffee... and helloooo to some kickass knives!!!

I have multiple Olamics, and my own Busker looks very similar to this. It's an excellent knife, and you definitely chose some quality upgrades there! Olamic and Eugene are just great folks.

The only problem with all the customization options is that you wind up wanting more than one. I have a perfect Busker with the Largo blade but keep eyeing that funky Gusto blade.

Balance seems fine, although on such a small and light knife, I don’t know that balance would ever really be an issue like it could be on a larger/heavier knife.

The holes definitely do NOT affect grip as even the largest holes are small compared to the size of your fingers. Plus, the part of the knife you grip most when holding it is along the bottom and top edges, and not along the sides of the scales. This knife definitely has a great ergonomic grip with the finger choil and gimping on top.

Post some pics! :)

How is the Busker as a slicer? Blade stock is 0.138 inches thick, not as thin as my other small knives. If anyone has experience slicing with the Busker or knows how thin the blade is behind the edge, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
