I bought a 119 at a pawn shop yesterday for $20.00. Today I was reading the thread on the 120 and realized that mine was old as well.

I pulled out the box and started noticing all the signs of it birth. The bands are more of a brownish color not black like the handles and has a fiberous look to them, are they micrata?

The warranty paper says 1/73, I guess it means this knife was made after then. Would it be 440C?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chad

An amusing (to me) antecdote about buying this knife. I asked to see some knives so the lady opened the display case with all the knifes. The box was taped shut so she started using her keys to slice the tape. I grabbed a Case Sodbuster and sliced the tape open.

She looked kind of sheepish. She must have been so used to using her keys that even the proximity to so many knives didn't ring a bell. Of course most of the knives where Chineses Mall Ninja knives so they probably wouldn't have cut the tape anyway :)
