Yesterday was a great day. Got a batch of 7's in and this classic. Not much to say about it other than I can't wait for KaBar to someday bestow upon us the glorious BK10. I sure hope that is in the works. This thing feels great in my hand. If KaBar does not make them in the near future, I'll be forced to cut down a 7 into a 10.

The sheath is darn near identical to what KaBar is putting out these days.

The fit and finish is of course not up to KaBar standards. The handle does not fit as well.

As you can see, these come to you a little rough. But, I will say, the blade has a beautiful
even grind, shoulder and symmetrical edge, that is quite sharp.

The black finish is on the lines of what ESEE puts on their knives. Not the
smooth we are used to from KaBar.

Check out this handle comparison. Camillus on left, KaBar right.
The feel of the KaBar is nicer, and the consistency of the shape can't be beat.

That's an awesome blade man. Yeah I'd get one from KA Bar if they put one out.

Mine from last month. Haven't got it dirty yet.

Congrats on the Crewman!
Those little crevices and divots are what I recently referred to in another thread.
The finish on the Ka-Bar knives is better than Camillus IMO.

Your post is what really inspired me to get one. I needed to see first hand what you were talking about concerning the fit and finish. You were right.

That and the fact I think the 10 is just too darn cool.

Now I have to decide whether or not to get it dirty. Or, put it in the safe with the S30V 7 I have coming in the mail. Hmmmm. What to do.

Thats why I have two BK10s. :) one for show and one for work. Its probably my favorite. Not quite as hardcore as the BK2 as far as thickness but slices better IMO only because its not .25 inches thick. But BK2 is a better at batoning and chopping and is a bit more heavy for my small little asian hands. I can't wait for Ka-bar to start producing the BK10. I agree with you all about the finish. Ka-bars is 10x nicer than Camillus. I think I'd take the BK10 backpacking because of the lighter weight but I'd take the BK2 for camping. I don't know they both are great knives.

Yeah, you replied to my thread about Camilus vs. Ka-bar. Now that I see other people's more detailed pictures, the Camillus I received may not have been used, they just don't look like a refined or finished product... (actually, it had to have been used because there were sharpie marks on the blade and handle). I definitely concur however, Ka-bar really takes pride in their product.

Moosey, do you know if kabar will add the handle cut-outs to the bk10 on that mythical day?

what's the actual blade length, tip-to-handle, on the BK10? is it the same as the 2?
