just picked this on up.I posted it in the schrade forum because I had a question about the spring and tang on the main blade. If you look at the picture you can see what I mean. It acts like a half stop.Other than that I am pleased as punch.A nice intro to Schrades for cheap money. I don't even half to put a patina on it.:D

Congrats. That's a fine lookin' knife! I love those swell center balloon patterns.

Be honest Blues..Is there a pattern us knife nuts don't like?? ;)

Hmmmmm...Lemme think on that. I'll get back to you in Atlanta next week. ;)

(Honestly though, it is one of the classiest patterns imho.)

It's different. I've never had this pattern Whittler before. My fondness for Stockmans swayed me to get it. The big swell in the back, along with the balloonish bolsters give it some personality.I like the way Schrade ground the swedges in the blades.
I have to get it into the mineral oil. There was a lot of black dust in it when I oiled it up. There isn't much wear at all on the blades. I don't think it's been sharpened. Some scratches on the blades from cutting and some staining. I think it was in a harsh enviroment that made the joints dry so the main blades tang wore prematurely. The saving grace is it still snaps open and closed.

Nice pattern..

I have one in the same pattern.
It is a Camilius, but a SS in black delrin with a 'Stanley' shield.
SL6 marked on the main clip.

I got it from Mike Latham
