New/old stock question?

I have the chance to buy some new/old stock Buck slipjoints that are being closed out at a store near me. They are the 307 large stockman, 312X two blade mini-trapper, and the large wooden handled stockman(didn't get the number). The knives fit right in with my collection theme, discontinued US made knives, and the prices are discounted, under 30$ each. Should I give up buying Schrades to fill out my collection and grab these, or are these common and not that big a deal?

The 307 is a very nice knife that had a long production run. You can usually get one on eBay for around $35. The 312 had a much shorter life as a production knife and is correspondingly rarer, a treasure to my mind. Not sure what the other one might be but if it has wood scales it could be a 110 or 112. Is it a lockback?

The wooden handled one is a slipjoint stockman about 4' long closed. I remember them being a standard item in the Buck line for years, just can't remember what the names were anymore.

Stockman but they are more commonly seen with black plastic scales so a wood one would be a rarer version. I'd buy it for sure.

No, don't give up buying USA Schrades & yes, buy the Buck's.

OTguy,
The slipjoint you are describing sounds like a 701 Bronco or a model 703 Colt. All of the 700 series knives are now discontinued.

Thats the right name, I knew it was a western-type name, but its been a few years since I have seen them.
