It was worth missing a days work for.
This one may even rate a name. Hummm let me think;)

I have been messing with this bowie on and off for about 4wks - It is finally done Yeaaaaaa.
My own take off of an old Bowie.
Made from tripple edge quenched 3/16" 5160. It has been etched, Plum browned, hand rubbed you name it.
12 7/8" blade tip to guard, 18 3/4" OAL.
Full Convex grind.
Nickle silver pins with and Ebony handle and 5160 guard to keep it happy...

Robert, did you end up treating the ebony with anything? If so, how'd it turn out? Hard to tell from the pic.

After handling it awhile I think I will leave it alone. This is a piece that will gain more character left natural IMHO.

Robert, you did a fine job on that bowie. That is a really nice finish on the blade and the blades shape is one that I like a lot. The handle is works perfectly with the rest of the knife and so does the guard. This is a great looking knife.

Any suggestions for a sheath...
I am seeing a high ride with a Latigo piece at the top and bottom maybe a Concho

Feel free to Chime in!

One of the nicer ones I have seen in a while.

That's a great looking Bowie Robert! Certainly worth your efforts. I really love the profile on that knife.....thanks for the pictures...

Thanks for that gorgeous pic!
That certainly is one sweet looking Bowie.
Well worth missing a day for.:)

That is cool.
I am making my first traditional 10" Bowie whith a Sharpfusion Stellite /440C blade.
I hope it turns out as good as yours.
