Just finished this one today. I call it the Little SOB, aka The Spirit of Bowie. Its taken 14 wooden models to finally get this handle shape. The blade is basically an abbreviated concave clipped bowie. 5/32inch stock O-1 steel, the tang is fully tapered. Handle slabs are contoured and polished black linen Micarta with random placed pinwork which I call "Stellar." The blade is quick in the hand, the balance being on the index finger. No traction grooves or texturing necessary, the handle indexes securely in the hand just with the handle shape. And yes, that clip is razor sharp on a zero-edge. I am offering this new model in O-1 and 440C for those who MUST have stainless. Thanks for looking. Jason.

I would put it as another stellar performance, Jason.

Looks very good, especially the handle. :)

Jason,
Seeing your work is always a treat. I think your name for this piece is really appropriate. It surely captures the spirit of a Bowie in a compact package. Great work!

All the best,
Mike U.

Love it!! Very appropriate name. Also has that nice balance of design between a tactical knife and a woodsman's knife. I like it more and more as I look at it. I think you've got a great functional design here.

Very, very nice. I've been looking for something like that for a long time.

I sure wish you were a little closer!

Jason, that is a beauty! What kind of sheath do you envision? When I saw the thread title (SOB), I immediately thought of a "Small of Back" knife...although that is not what you meant, it could very well apply!

BTW, here's an SOB holster for a gun...

Sweet! I love the blade and the handle looks like it would be very comfortable in a multitude of grips.

I like that guy -- that pin work must be some time-consuming stuff -- it looks great though!

I'm trying to find the proper words, but all I keep coming up with is, "ahuminahuminahumina", and other incoherent garblings and drooling. :D

That is one seriously fine looking knife! :)
