I recently picked up an Armstrong-Blum Marvel #2 power hacksaw off of FB marketplace. Price was only $100, and it was in passable condition. When I got it home it loosened up and lubricated just fine, but the motor was wonky. At some point it was converted from the original 1/2 HP motor to a chain drive with a 3/4 HP. Previous owner had it wired 220, but tried to wire it down to 110 and didn't get it connected right. I had to wire brush the paint off the motor plate, but got to the wiring diagram and got things straightened out. Here it is running right, 108 strokes a minute. Have an order of fresh blades on the way. I have some 5" round solid stock that I need to cut. This machine will let me set up the cut, turn the machine on, and go do other things while it works.
