One of mine that stayed around too long, so I started throwing it and I’m not very good but I love to do it. The haft was scratched and banged up pretty bad so a remodel was in order. Rawhide scrapes, some braintan fringe and some of the antique snuff lids . Scrapping, homebrew dye, dirt, grease and shellac for the finish. I refiled the edge somewhat with a more pleasing profile and shortened and refined the spike. Iron is from 100 yr. old plow and the haft is oak.
I don't say this enough, thanks to John Cohea for resurrecting this form of Celt tomahawk for my thievery.....Randy

That thing looks like it’s been through a few 100 years of war, I love you style my friend. I’m going to have to get one of does latter on. You should do collaboration with Robin. That would be epic.

Thanks Dusty , I've been working on my pics. Chuck Burrows at Wild Rose has the greatest pics and I shamelessly slobber over them. Great craftsman also.
Thank you Mr. Pink
Edwood, as always good to hear from you. Robin gets real money and he's way out of my league. BUT, I did think about a Canadian-USA-Mexico colab. on a period correct War Club? Mid 1700's. All three cultures were beating each other with basically the same stick. Just different decorations. Stay safe......Randy

I'm hardly out of your league my friend. I would love to do a colab with you and Edwin, what fun. The damned borders are an issue but we could think about how to pull it off. ;-)

Very best regards

Robin

Sorry Vince, I didn't see you. I like SICK(I think, I'll ask VooDoo) And you can have it or several more kinda like it...

Thanks Robin. Yes the Governments DO work for us, so where there's a will. We'll sell it and clean up the US debt. If you haven't heard, we're a little behind on our bills.........Randy

Robin, while I have you here, have you ever messed with any horse leather?

Randy, don't get me started on government ;-((( It's a great reason to keep making weapons and tools for food taking. I fear that the Mad Max period is coming our way.

Best regards

R

I'm excited about a colab by you and Robin. If Edwood is to be involved as well, It will have to be something awesome. Bring it on boys.
Howard

Randy, somehow missed your post. Years ago I had an old horse hide coat that I cut up and used for a bag, neat stuff to work with. I'm about to get a bunch of Beaver tails that I'm pretty excited about, they'll make killer sheaths. I have to split them and tan the halves but the surface is awesome.

Best regards

R

Hey Howard, I'm for sure up for doing a colab with Randy and Edwin. I'll email them both and start the discussion. What fun ;-))

Regards

Robin

Robin, the beaver skins sound very neat. I saw some beaver shooting bags at a renascence last year, very unusual grain. I'm trading for a bunch of horsehide bellies, I read that it was used for holsters and belts in frontier days......Randy

Man, that's some great character you have added to that hawk!

Nice work Sir!

Randy I finished my mods to my CS Spike Hawk and CS Bushman Bowie. I'm looking at Robin's and your sheaths to get ideas for mine. I bought some purses at yard sales for the leather. I still haven't found any unique leather though. I bet your horse hide will work well.
