Been admiring Olegs work for a few months now and decided to place
a custom order for a knife I designed for my needs.

You really should have checked The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly forum before paying a deposit, there's been some recent questionable behavior from that maker. Hope it ends well for you.
 
I saw the negative responses he got from a couple of people, but I still decided to take the chance.
sometimes things go south, but we don't see all the details and I don't get the feeling he is out to intentionally screw anyone.
sometimes things just go wrong and one thing leads to another then it escalates beyond whats really necessary.
Hopefully this will bring his reputation back up from those past hiccups.
I am not to worried.
 
After reading about Oleg I would never, ever give him any kind of deposit!! What are you people thinking?? Or not thinking. You should have just ordered a Grayman Pounder! Good luck with Oleg!
 
I thought about that one, but I don't care for a single edge and it has no gut hook, I have a bit of a seasonal hog problem so I eat allot of pork ;)

if everything goes smoothly I will need a few more knives after this one. and he has enough positive feedback that in my opinion it was worth giving him a break.
 
We'll see you in the feedback subforum in time. Hopefully maybe in the GOOD side but I have my doubts after a simple search of Olegs business model he runs. Good luck and I hope you receive a blade. 3V is a good choice IMO.
 
Poor Oleg, lost his juice around here. Here's a chance for him to start making good. Well any day is a good day to do the right thing......I'll shut up now. :)

That was my thought on the matter. there is no reason to blacklist the guy over a few recent hiccups.
he makes a fine blade so I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I am a patient man so no worries here.
 
Looks like it'll be pretty heavy with a low saber grind and .25" thickness. What's the width going to be? It isn't dimensioned in the sketch.

I'm surprised people still pay deposits up front after seeing all the problems. Good luck.

You shoulda gone with OTK knives, i placed an order with him 2 weeks ago and the blank is already cut out and going for HT!

It looks like he did it in a hurry. Normally his knives looks more...refined? Maybe not the right word. If it performs well that's all that matters.
