Alan Folts has been working again and came up with a nice looking Hawkbill folder, here is a quick pic of that knife, maybe later Alan will chime in with specs...
Nice one Alan!

Wow, handle texture really complements the blade nicely! That is one beautiful knife, very well executed.

Everything seems to come together very well on this great looking folder. I am not sure if it is the resolution or not, but I am not quite sure if the colors I am seeing are correct or not.

Howdy There....!
Is that the same Allen Folts from Greenville NC..? If it is he does soem outstanding work. He really pays attention to the details. Attended a short course at one the NC Guild meetingand he was great with his instructions and details..! Keep up the great work Allen...!

Later "Possum"

That's one nice knife. If you ever get tired of it let me know.

You might not have to pay me too much to take it off your hands. :D

I got my Rob Criswell warncliff in today. Looks like it will be a winner also. Will post more after some use.

Dwight, she's not mine but wanted to share the pic, an email to Alan might make it belong to someone soon though! I'm tapped out at the moment otherwise!

As to the Criswell, cool, I still like mine quite well, I've sharpened the blade and reprofiled the main bevels so they slice a little better but what a deal!

COOL!!! I saw this one when it was half done. The picture doesn't do it any justice. If I remember corectly the blade is George Werth damascus.

Give us the scoop Alan!

THE SCOOP!

Well the blade is "thunderforged" damascus from UAI, twist 1 if I remember right...

Ti liners,rainbowed sorta dark.

Stainless bolsters, blasted and heat colored.

carbon fiber handles...

satin gold plated hardware, including the stop pin..

locks up hard and to the extreme left... lots of room for wear.

Black paper micarta backspacer with thick nylatron washers.

anything i missed???

Oh, it is still available if someone is interested just email me and we can talk! its a neet little knife, not my usual style, my knives are usually bright and slightly gaudy not dark and non reflective.:)

thanks for the comments guys!!!

Alan...

Dang Gary

I just got in a Wagner "Semi-custom" Ocelot (Lynx) with green/black G-10 scales. The black shows thru in the "pug marks".
I may not be able to afford the Hawkbill either. But I'm going to find out.

I thined the edge on my Criswell also, changed the angle to about 25 fron 30. Haven't tried it yet just finished. So far I really like the knife. Great blade shape and really can't beat the price. Win's great to do business with also.

Alan you've got mail.

Yep I lightly reprofiled mine and it really cuts/slices better now, but it was sharp but I always have to screw around with an edge it seems!

Win is great of course, you should really pick up one of those Criswell 12" Tantos!! 1/4" A2 blade really kicks...

Gary you keep posting knives that I like and the Wife will be mad at BOTH of us.

I e-mailed Alan and the hawkbilled thing is coming to my house for an extended visit. Did you by chance have it in your hands for some of your famous G2 handywork?

I won't even look at any of Rob's other work. Well for at least a month or so. I'm broke.

Please keep my name out of it! hah! My wife has LONG since stopped even looking at the boxes that arrive at my house, which is a good thing!

Dwight, nope it never made it up this far, but the lines on that are really nice looking! You better slow down a bit!

And yep, Rob's work, well you're probably right about not looking at that! The only other persons knife that felt that good to hold in my hand was Dan Maragni's knife, the handle just felt so right! Rob's octagonal shape is very hand filling and comfortable, much like unto a hammer handle of old, one you can hang onto and not become uncomfortable.

Congrats on the Alan Folts! and again, DON'T bring my name up around the table, I've a few wives at work that don't like my influence over their husbands latest purchases either!
