So I met this really cool German maker over a beer at the PKA in Denver this weekend. To be honest I really was not familiar with his work. We chatted a bit about engineering and his background with high level zero tolerance manufacture at TI and his hunting background and of course the fact that I am about to marry a German stunner. Anyway short story long, he gives me his business card with this amazing looking old knife on it. It was quite impressive looking even on card stock. I asked him about it and he said he had it on display at the show. The next day I went to his table and WOW. This guy is good, really really good. I looked at all of his blades and they were universally flawless and had excellent fit and finish. But by far and away the stand out, in a wooden red velvet lined case was his 1820's Carriage knife reproduction.
I held it and was instantly euphoric, it was so warm and heavy and interesting, I quickly started doing the math in my head. I had to get it.
I am sure there are many on this forum who know this feeling when a knife just speaks to you, and by and large, you are powerless to decline its ownership.

So here it is. It has a many features including a scissors with cigar cutter, a big Carriage Key which folds out from beautifully engraved hoof scrapper & nail puller there is also a large knife, a small knife, a saw, a cork screw,
a leather hole punch, an awl, a screw driver, tweezers, and a tooth pick.
the hoof scrapper & nail puller, also has a nut cracker !

Nice one, Blake. Hans does some amazing work. Here is a similar knife, but it's a MINIATURE! It won Best Miniature AND Best in Show at the 2006 PKA Show in Denver.
