It was a doodle on a sketchbook that lead me to make this....I had a piece of mammoth that fitted the design precisely so I decided to make it a small exclusive precision cutting tool. The blade is thin ground RWL-34, cryotreated, 60 Rc. Bladelenght is 2.5" with 2" of cutting edge. I made the dge specailly thin for delicate cutting..screaming sharp. The overall lenght is 5.5" approx. The sheath is made from halftanned leather and covered with lizzardskin. I designed the sheath for both belt and pocketcarry....thats why it is shaped like this.

Thanks for looking.

I really like the tang to blade geometry. The finish and edge are great, and that's a really nice sheath. It's one of those knives you really want to hold. Great job.

not familiar with the rwl34. What type of steel is this? Rockwell is pretty hard at 60.

Thank you for the kind words....!!

RWL-34 is a powdersteel equivalent in composition to ATS-34 yet it has a small amaount of Vanadium added. It is suprisingly strong and gets extreemly sharp. It is still fairly easy to sharpen. It would hold 61-62Rc without a problem.......I have the blade cryotreated and this helps a great deal on the high rockwell...When I occationaly use ATS-34 I also have it at 60Rc with no problem...also cryotreated..!
