I've been working on this technique for a while now and it finally came together. I'd like to know what you think.

Thanks,

Outstanding, Michael! First the inlay/mosaic stuff and now this. Good to see you're still thinking outside the box.

Michael , I love it! Not only are the flowers in the hamon awesome, but the entire piece works together perfectly. How consistent are your results or how many times did you have to try that to get it to work?

Thanks guys.
Rob - I have done several. I believe that I can produce them fairly consistantly (at least the flower). Now that I have the procedures down, (steel, clay mixture, temperatures, soak time and quenchant), I plan to try some other patterns. I have been trying - off and on - for several years to do this - probably 60 to 70 previous trys.

Amazing work. I just checked out your website, and I guess amazing work is the norm for you.

Unbelievable!!!

This be a slight over-reaction... but man... that mosaic damascus on your site just about brought me to tears.

You are a true inspiration, Michael

THANK YOU

Very nice work. Your hamon is spectacular.
All is very nice to see and to use man... compliments

Thank you, gentlemen.

Thanks Bgbdwolf.

Here is another one with the same technique. Blade is 7 1/2 inches, handle is juniper burl with stacked leather spacers.

Michael, bigger pics are definitely in order. :D I'm really digging this latest one, the handle really works for me.
