So, how do you tell the difference between the new an old Militaries?

Mine has the 440V, so is that a determining factor?

I have every reason to believe it is new, but I'm am curious.

The easiest way to tell is by the clip. The new models are held on by 3 screws in a triangle pattern around the pivot.

Dry Heat,
The New Style will have Stainless screws in the handle, and a contured (slightly curved) clip that is held on by three screws in a triangular shaped base on the clip.

There have been at least three generations of the Military. The original had the two screw clip and some problems that have been solved later versions.

The newest style has the three screw clip and other improvements, and also a smooth choil (lower rear end of the blade).

There was a transition style that had the three screw clip of the newest model, and a blade that had the notched choil found on the originals.

I have a pair made from ATS-34 steel. Where in the chronology do these fit in? They have the 3 screw clip attachment.
