What is the born on date of your Small CF Inkosi? Are any of them 2017 yet?

UPDATE:
So the reason for the question is that I just received my new CF Small Inkosi from KnifeArt today. Upon opening and inspecting I noticed that the anodized blue on the thumb stud was worn off a bit but the left hand side was a dark blue. Also there was a bit of dirt/gunk on the stop pin. The born on date is Oct 31 2016. I wasn't sure if I should also consider that as a sign that this was maybe a returned knife? When I look on the forum though I see a lot of Oct 31 CF Small Inkosis. So not sure if maybe they haven't sold through that run yet?

Feedback appreciated.

Update:
Rodney from Knifeart.com was great and ensured me the next one would be "perfect". He emailed me a prepaid priority return label and it's good to go!

Update 2: I received my new Inkosi today. It looks great! Aside from no signs of previous handle the knife is dead centered with 50% lockup, and smooth out the box. I will say though, being brand new, the detent is strong. I cannot one hand open. Gonna take some break in! Thanks KnifeArt.com

Two weeks for my Small Inkosi Plain.
May of 2016 is the born date. I found that surprising .........you would think they would have sold them by now.

It's not uncommon to have the thumb stud anodizing not perfect and the tips missing some of the color, but all of the new purchases I've had in the past 6-10 months have been perfect on both sides (25's and Inkosi's). Gunk on the stop pin is not normal, therefore your suspicion is valid. I've purchased more than 30 CRKs new and never once did I see dirt/gunk on the stop pin or the place it seats on the blade tang.

Did you use a really bright light to look for any lint on the insides of the scales?

Suspicious...

I don't think you have a nib Inskoi. There shouldn't be any blue anodizing worn off the left stud. Gunk around the stop pin is not something

a nib CRK has.

I'd call, don't email, and tell them you want a replacement that's nib. Send them pics so they can see the 'nib' knife they sent you.

They should send you a new knife. From everything I've read on BF they're great guys.

No way is that NIB. Makes me think someone returned it, or maybe even did a blade swap for whatever reason from their Inkosi rather than send it to CRK if they had an issue with it.

Seeing the condition of the thumb studs, I agree with others- that is not factory new.

Thats a used knife for sure. Even has grime built up next to the washer on the CF side. And I've never received a new crk with a thumbstud looking like that.

That's definitely been in someone's pocket and then returned without KA knowing it.

KA are a great Bunch of people. They will help you out and make it right.

Man I'd have that thing laying open in pieces in front of me already giving her a once over then adjusting the pivot to preference. Good luck with her and I hope you enjoy it. I get a giggle anytime I see a lockup shot of an Inkosi because of those huge washers. They really seem to make a huge difference.

Oh and if you beat the crap out of it like Gizler and I do, feel free to add to the thread!

Maybe one day I'll get a New Inkosi :)
