*First up, Gary Carbone, i keep emailing you, don't think there getting through, let me know.

So I was looking to try something new with sheaths and this tool I handled happens to need one.

I played around with using two dyes on one sheath and decided to sow in a more complex bit (you can see it in the stitching where the knife tip would be)

I also went ahead and went sans belt loop (really prefer that) but made a piece that matches so I can wear it on my belt as well. I've been using a similar set up for hatchets for a while but never for a knife sheath.

Figured it makes sense the number of times I have to take a knife off my belt (normally i just have to leave the sheath on and drop the knife in a bag or something) when i'm getting in a car, sitting down of any kind or going in to a building for a "No Weapons" sign posted.

Here's some pictures

I threaded rather then sowed the bit together so I can tighten it as needed (leather stretches, right ;)) or even cut the piece down a bit then re-thread if I ever needed.

I was gong to make a bead for this bit but ran out of time this mooring (kids woke up) and just grabbed a skull bead gifted to me at some point by Outdoorsfan (knew i'd find a use for 'em :)) thanks Sean!

fits on my belt well

and i think it looks pretty snazzy

thanks for looking all

Nice job Peter, the two tone dye looks nice. It would go nice with one of your two tone knife handles. I like the carry system also.

I like the two-tone and mottled look, very well done. But I really like the belt-loop setup; it's clearly well thought-out and a great solution to a universal challenge. I'm not a fan of danglers but there are times a removable option would be great for longer knives. Does the sheath have a bit of wedge shape or is it just held in the loop by friction? Ah, I guess the handle creates a natural bulge locking it in place. Well done!

Great work; that looks really nice. I like the removable belt hanger. It adds alot of options for carry methods. And congrats on having the courage to experiment.

Ha, funny, john.

Thanks everyone.

As for the courage to experiment, that's half the fun when its your hobby. Thanks though. I think john always trying new things and designs when its his jobb takes some more courage.

After wearing it a few hours I'll say while it can't be pushed through it. An be pushed lower when you are trying to put the knife back in the sheath. When I do it again I think I design a rise or bump just where I want it to rest to make it extra secure.

Nice job, Peter!

best
