Mods if this is the wrong place for this please move it. Had to replace the scabbard for my 12" AK when one of the wood pieces split. Decided to do something a little different. The green canvas is from an old military duffle I also used poplar for the inner wood core. I also left it flat for a slimmer carry. Let me know what you guys think.

WOW!!!! Looks like you're gonna be the new HI USA Sarki!!!!  :D
Yup a tutorial would be nice and did you take any pics while you were doing the remaking of the scabbard? :p
And did you epoxy the two wood pieces together? If so that would already be a stronger scabbard than the original......:)
I really like the way you sewed it up both sides instead of the single piecing together up the back, makes for a much flatter and neater job!!!! :D

I'll have to work on the step by step (pain meds are starting to kick in again). Tools list was very minimal

Dremel (to cut the cavity in the two pieces of wood)
belt sander (i have a 1" harbor freight special, used to give a semi-finished shape)
needle and thread (military experience helps with this part, you got to know how to sew)
and I used the original frog

I didn't take pictures during the process but if anybody wants to volunteer a kukri I can do it again, still have alot of green canvas left. no charge for it poplar's cheap canvas was free. this way in can do it agian with pics and a proper tutorial. and i did glue the two sides together with loctite sumo glue (dries faster that gorilla glue with less foaming)

Nice job, I like it. Makes me think of the movie The Bridge Over the River Kwai.

Tutorial would be a plus.

Thanks

I also might do another for my BAS but i've already got the rig the way I want it. I just may have to buy another Kukri to make a scabbard for it. Hopefully Yangdu will have a blem with no scabbard that I can make one for that way she can sell it complete.

I'll volunteer a khuk. Any particular model you'd like to work on?

Anything you wanna send, i'm not a picky person. you can email me at he address above and we can arrange something. It's my work email but it's the most reliable way to reach me other than here.

We need you to fill out a W-2, your dental forms and go to security for your parking pass...you're hired.

*Lovely*...
