Normally when I make a metal tip sheath, I wrap the wooden core with leather before attaching the nickel silver throat & tip. On this one I wanted to leave the wood exposed so I used some walnut burl and inletted a nickel silver escutcheon.

(The knife is definitely inspired by Alfred Hunter but not intended to be an exact duplicate.)
