New Para-Military 2 compression lock hard to disengage

I just received my new paramilitary 2 and it's painful to disengage the compression lock. Will this smoother up over time? Should I put some gun oil on it?

Maybe if he wouldn't flick open his knife so hard he wouldn't have that problem. I've never understood the "youtube knife reviewers" needing to hard flick their knives all the time. But, this is just my opinion.

I've had three and none of the locks have stuck. But, as others have said, give it time, it'll break in. Of course you can always send it in for warranty. Spyderco is fairly quick at turnaround.

I came across that video while looking for any info about fixing a strider lock that is sticky. I thought it might help because i have a Grayman that came with a very sticky lock and somehow when i took it apart (for another reason) and put it back together the lock is now perfectly smooth and has stayed that way.

Are you flicking it open hard? That will most definitely wedge the lock and make it hard to unlock. In a smooth controlled motion, opening the folder, will the lock stick?

Hope you didn't take offense at my comment I wasn't directing my comment at you just quoted your post so others would know I was taking about the YouTube guy.

I think I'm flicking it normally. I'm not moving my wrist or anything. I wouldn't think that I'm flicking it hard.

Is your PM2 DLC coated? If so, make sure the locking face on the blade tang is oil free or it'll stick pretty bad. Keep wiping the lock face everyday with a cotton swap or something it should smooth out.

Sounds like "thumb flicking" rather than "wrist flicking." There's a big difference...wrist flicking really pounds the knife...thumb flicking should be fine.

sorry, knife noob here.

I don't quite understand the term "sticky" but I think my problem is related or might not be related.

it is quite hard to disengage the lock for my new PM2, is this what is meant by sticky? after playing with it for a while, my fingers are sore and numb just by the lock. I've viewed the youtube video where it says to rotate the locking pin via the locking screws, can someone explain how this helps to make it any less "sticky?" Is the pin not perfectly round so as to create sticky spots?

my second "related" problem is that the knife isn't buttery smooth. if i hold up the knife horizontally and release the lock it will drop down, and it will stay unless i grab the knife and move it manually into place. Do I need to loosen pivot screw or it's just not broken in? Also, when grabbing and slowly moving it manually by hand there is a smaller initial "click"ing sound and then if i move it further it actually locks into place. Does all the PM2's have this double click?
