Cool. Looks like it has bolsters. Maybe a slipjoint knife w/ either plain or grooved bolters.

Those are Bolster Dies. They're used for coining bolsters. Smooth for Tidioute and Lined for Northfield. GEC has already announced one new knife pattern. You can see it at their website.http://greateasterncutlery.net

Dang it ain't Canoe, it ain't 3½" barlow... those bolsters do look like what gec uses in congress' or Cases texas jack like... Maybe they're making Congress Jack?

I don't think they're bolster dies, a die would be the reverse of the bolster, in other words a mold of the bolster that a n/s ingot could be pressed into to form a bolster.

Yup, those are the dies to make the molds for the forum knife that should have been...

In the coining process,a die is pressed,under great pressure,into a metal planchet thereby leaving a design in said metal. In this case,a die would be pressed into a nickel silver slug producing a formed bolster.
