I just wanted to share with my folksy brothers. I scored this Case XX Stag Peanut for $31 bucks and it arrived yesterday. This is my sixth Peanut to date.

Next one on my list is a CV peanut in Amber bone if I can find one. It's no collectors grade stag since the scales don't match very well so it wont be a safe queen and I can use it without feeling too bad about it.

May the folksy be with you. :)

Are they called peanuts because they look kind of, sort of, like the legume? Or just because they're small and convenient?
Nice deal. That's a very even patina you got there.

I haven't been able to find a cv peanut with amber bone scales. There are several other patterns, but no peanut. I prefer the natural materials like the red bone cv peanut or the chestnut cv with blued blades.
I really like this new stag ss peanut, it has found a nice home along with my other EDC slippies.

Enjoy that little guy, zombie. It's definitely a keeper. It can go, too, so don't baby it. Use it and use it hard with no fear. I have the Bone Stag SS Peanut, and let me tell ya, size not withstanding, it is definitely a tough little knife. I have another thread going here about tough knives, and this one is DEFINITELY one that belongs on the list. I have used mine for everything from cutting heavy rope to slicing cheese, from cutting twine to skinning alligators and crocodiles. It sliced a bagel and spread some cream cheese in the hospital cafeteria the day my daughter was born, and helped my grandmother prune her roses. A hard work knife in a small package with the original non-slip handle. Enjoy.

My father says they are too small, as he whips out his large stag copperlock. I am starting to believe these little peanuts can do just about anything. I'd feel naked without one.

I've had that experience as well, where someone laughs at my little knife, only to have their bigger blade humbled by my tiny razor. And I also feel naked without it. Try as I might, I can't seem to stay away from it. No matter what I carry, my Peanut always finds it's way back into my pocket.

Well, sometimes the Peanut is just perfect. It's always cute and handy, and built like a real knife instead of a toy.

But sometimes, I have to agree that it is too small.

Suit the tool to the use.

That's always been my one complaint about the peanut, It's great for 99% of what I need out of a pocket knife, cutting wise. But once in a while I wish it was a 3 1/8 knife like the Case pen knife.
