I just noticed I got back in my change yesterday the second of a series of 4 new designed pennies for 09, with scenes from Abe Lincoln's life.
Anybody else see them? These sorta took me by surprise!

I remember reading about these sometime back. It's nice to see that they're finally making their rounds.

Here's the rest:

Does anyone know anything about the new permanent 2010 design? Is it still leaning towards the wheat design?

You want it on both sides of the coin?

I was looking some 2010 penny stuff, and one source mentioned that the wheat design was scrapped due to a resemblance to the Pfennig. Hmm...

wow thanks for pointing that out I have yet to see any of these in person but they sure are interesting...

Good Morning America showed them last week but these posts give a much better idea as to what they are like.

I also notice that there is no "In God We Trust"... Ridiculous.

I have read that the phrase wasn't added until 1909 or there abouts, so technically has only been part of the coin for less than half the country's lifespan.

Apparently our trust lies elsewhere now as before. ;)

Thanks for the heads up Jill, I wouldn't have noticed, Because I hardly look at or carry coins anymore.
I'll watch for these now. Thanks

Try the front. I don't believe the Obverse is changing, except that they're giving Lincoln a goatee and a crack pipe.

Pennies cost more to make than they're worth. The US Mint will be able to sell more mint sets and proof sets, however, to folks who want the new designs.

My goatee and crack pipe source must've been high. :p

I thought I was seeing both sides, my bad. I heard that they were taking it off, and I was afraid they were starting with the penny.

Our Country was founded because of religion and God.

Apparently YOUR trust lies somewhere else, doesn't mean everybody elses does. ;)
