Joe or Pete or CJ,
Any updated information on when the new and improved Pete's Custom Shop will be up and running? I've been checking on a daily basis since I got my last knife as I'm dying to order another.

You're not alone. I've also been holding off on buying a new Buck until the new Pete's opens up.

I sleep at night dreaming of the new Pete's Shoppe. :D

Buzz,

You know, it's funny you should mention that.

For the last two months I've had a recurring dream that I'm being chased over the phone lines by a giant web browser, and when I try to speak, all that comes out are little gray error messages.

But now, finally, it's time to turn it on.

Thanks to my very special friend, Larry Oden, we have finished the last of the exhaustive testing and bug-fixing and now she's ready to go. I suspect that updating the DNS records, and making sure everything is pointing to the new design might take at most a couple of days to become visible. But we are working on that at this very moment.

All I can say is that it has been worth the effort, and the new design will be very pleasing.

Thanks to all for your patience and understanding. Now Go do, that voodoo, that you do, so well!

Surely, you have a URL...

(I know, don't call you Shirley :D (It's funnier out loud))

I, too, have been checking for the new PCKS every day. Its imminent unveiling is good news indeed! Thanks for the update.

Since Pete let the news out, I can shout that this morning I ordered the first PCKS honey on the new site. It is Koa, nickel silver, no handle rivets and ATS-34. I chose ATS-34 over BG-42 only because I do not have a 110 in ATS-34. The picture of this one was great and I am confident the knife will be a WINNER!
We have been trying to conclude this order for some two weeks and kept having problems with the system accepting the credit card. It finally worked this a.m. and Pete thinks the bugs are worked out. If my knife budget was better I would order another selection with the smooth Asian water buffalo inlays. Then ...

Nobody home. They are on a field research mission for a week or so.

Go check it out, the new PCKS is live.

Be sure an go by way of the web site home page. The URL shoppe.buckknives.com is still pointing to the oldie. Probably only temporary.

The new site is really nice and seems to function better than the previous one. Will new blade steels be added? I noticed a couple new handle materials are available- smooth buffalo and elk antler. Very nice! Will any other folder or fixed blade knives be offered in the future? Great job! Us Buck fans appreciate the ability to customize a knife to our tastes and all of Buck's great efforts to take care of their customers.

the plans for the future that they have admitted too include:
the 112, one of the fixed blades(I think that they said the Big Sky)
possibly the 560 titanium handle. there is already a new blade choice: Ionfusion purple

The web site doesn't work for me using IE6. I can build the knife, but the site crashes when I press the Build button. Also, the pricing is all messed up. The knife costs the same, no matter what steel I choose. For me, a stag handled, finger grooved BG-42 110 costs $71.00. I wish!!!!

Bummer for me on the new PCKS. :(

I also bummed that it's still just the 110. I thought it would be premiering with more knives to choose from.

The new PCKS site looks great and the additional inlay options of smooth AWB horn and Koa wood are enticing.

I, too, was under the impression that the new PCKS would offer a fixed blade and in addition I thought that D2 was to be offered as an option. Will the fixed blade and D2 options be added later? If so, when?

FYI-I just tried to order a BG-42 with KOA handles with Brass bolsters. Nice looking in the picture. I tried to proceed to check out and like Buzzbait, things crashed. I will try again later tonight or I guess I could call tomorrow.

Just tried it twice. first time it had a runtime error after selecting the sheath and crashed. Second time it went all the way to where I would actually complete the order.

I think that Pete is supposedly working on the D2 project. Of course, they have had him on the upgrade for petes, the new knives, the 560 clip, etc.

OK, it's been a month... did you get it? How does the Koa look?

I ordered mine this morning, and it's still not here yet :(

Koa, Brass, FG, BG-42, no rivets. Can't wait.
