Well, as part of my attempt to improve how I handle knifemaking as a business, I realized I gotta step up into the new century... so I came down from the hills to town and got a cell phone today. I've never had one... well, I had a track-phone for a couple months but it never worked properly.

I'm planning on using this as my main phone.

I will keep this phone with me in the shop during the day, and take it to the gym at night. If I can't hear it, or can't get to it, PLEASE leave me a voice-mail! :)

(360) 749-5564

THANKS!
-Nick-

ps- I got a national plan, and also unlimited calling after 7 pm (for those of you who like to talk my ear off ;) ).

Nick, Nick, Nick!

Cell phones can be dangerous time wasters.
Especially if you are talking to Danbo all day long, instead of working on MY high priority stuff!

My best advice is to let the Voice Mail function do its thing AND...
... only return calls once or twice a day, AFTER you have left the shop.

Best,
Peter

Nick,

If you just have Danbo's numbers blocked on your cell, you will be ahead of schedule in a few weeks!

Best,
Peter

The string between the cans broke!

Good luck with the cell phone. I call mine my leash.
Broke the first one, but was 'persuaded' to get another.

And if these guys bother you too much, just turn on the grinders :D

Thanks guys (I think  ) ;)

Right now I'm having some issues with signal strength, but there is a new tower nearing completion near the house that should fix that.

I'm seriously thinking I might need to implement something like a 15 minute phone call rule... you get 3 collectors that call you and talk for 1-2 hours each and the hours for forging and grinding seem to be dwindled down

:p :D

Cell-phone? What's next fancy boy, air-conditioning? :D :D

Are you sure giving that out to Danbo was the right thing to do? ;)

Nick, I agree with Peter 100%, use your voicemail! You can check the voicemail after each call to see if it's something important enough to warrant an immediate callback. If not then you can answer everyone's calls when you're done in the shop. You don't only need to worry about wasted time in the shop but going over your minutes can cost you hundreds of dollars.
