George has been re-working and fine tuning his new frame lock folder pattern. The photo below shows a much more defined grind line and a few other changes.

We are waiting for Red, Blue, Green/Black and Blue/Black G10 to arrived for different handle material options and Sandvick 19C27 knife steel for the blade.
Seems we're waiting for everything these days............:(

Cheers, Carol :)

This is as far as I can go with the original prototype, there are a couple of other changes to be made for the final model.

The big change is to change the angle of the bolsters to eliminate the thin scale material ending near the thumb stud. The point on the bolster will now be on the bottom instead of the top of the handle.

Minor change to screw head size to hide the frame screws better when the scales are cut back from the edge of the integral frame to reveal the edge of the frame.

It seems that what I draw out never makes it to the finished knife without a lot of fine tweaking.

I've got alot more photos BUT we are not entirely pleased with the look of this knife, it's still got that "traditional" look about it.

We'd appreciate some constructive suggestions as to design changes that could be made to make this into a more competitive tactical piece. Like I said we're not entirely pleased with it as it stands although it's been tweaked a few times,

Helpful, constuctive suggestions would be welcomed...............

Thanks, Carol :)

George,

Most of the tactical frame locks out there that I have noticed are not bolstered. It's a really nice touch and it should pay off for you.

I think that the "traditional" look you are seeing is that it's kinda a semi-skinner blade. The pic makes it look like the blade isn't gonna fit in the handle. Probably jut the angle of the pic though.

Only thing I would say it make sure that the point of the thumb ramp doesn't poke ya when it's in your pocket if you reach past it for your keys, or if it gets carried In the waist band.

Good luck, I think you'll do well. I don't know much but if I can be of any help to a fellow George, let me know! :)

Thanks Les. the blade does fit the frame and yes the thumb ramp is too high, looking at trimming it down a bit.
