I was disappointed with the photon 3, and this model is quite similar. The strobe feature may be useful as a signal device, but I found that in regular daily use it was far too easy to accidentally change the brightness or turn on the damn strobes, which requires holding in the button for 30 seconds or more just to get back to your preferred setting. From the looks of it, this problem hasn't been addressed with the latest model. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I advise caution if you intend this to be for everyday use. Personally, I highly recommend the photon 2 because of the single setting and the button lock.
Because all of the photon microlights are affordable, durable, and very light, the later models with strobes (photon 3 or this one) easily have a place in your various kits. All I'm saying is to consider your needs before deciding which model to buy if this will be your first micro-light purchase.
