I posted some new pics of P-1445's Custom Gun-Blued Mini-Jungle on the GH Forum Gallery this evening as promised.

The pictures I received were beautiful (Thanks again P1445), but the scanner (or perhaps the operator) didn't do them justice. I'm still at the low end of the learning curve on that particular machine. Bear with me, I'm bound to get better at this

Nice pix -- what's the size of the mini-jungle (there's nothing in the photos to give a sense of scale)?

P1445 did a great job. It really looks professional. Now I'm really starting to salivate about getting my hands on the shiny blue WWIII. I gather there's been progress on finding a handle maker - how 'bout an update when you get a chance, Craig?
Steven-my MJ is 12.5" OA, with a 7.5" blade.

Steve,

About 13" OAL; handle, 5"; 3/8" thick stock; 1.5" deep. Shaped like a small WWII. Love this khuk in my collection. I think it will be in my dayback or backpack for a trek in deep woods. It should serve quite well for an emergency "survival" knife. Light enough to carry but still heavy enough to do chopping to construct a backwoods lean to.

The fit and finish of mine mini jungle and sheath is very good. The karda and chakma are okay but really, really small (3" OAL) to do much good.

For about $50 (?), it is great buy compared to most similar size production "survival" knives out there.

I highly recommend it.

Blackdog,
I think the scans came out rather well. The photos were slightly under-exposed to begin with. It's a habit I have when shooting pictures in order to saturate colors. When I tried to scan them, they came out too dark, and I don't know enough about my scanning software to fix it.

The film was 18 months out of date, and I am lazy, so I really didn't put a lot of effort into the photos. Having said that, I am pleased they were usable.

Next time I'll watch my backgrounds and exposures.

Thanks again for doing the scans and posts.
