hi all.
i sure haven't posted in a while. but, what a great day i had today. got some much-needed woods time. went out to a spot i have been before, but i decided to explore a bit. i was out scouting for turkey, but that was just my excuse. i had about a 3.5 mile walkabout, and at least half that was land i hadn't see before.

i'm in such a good mood, i decided to share. :)

everyone likes a pocket dump! this is what i was carrying...

i really like this knife so far.

cheers all.

Usually I carry my pockets with my belt, not the other way around. I applaud your ingenuity! ;)
Nice kit!!
lol. i like having a “gun belt”. i just grab it and put it on. certainly not for keeping my pants on or for keeping my pockets company. :D

Now that's a "GUN" belt!
Don't see leather ones worn much anymore. You definitely got the bases covered there. Don't see an extra mag.

opening day for trout was saturday. i escaped work for a couple hours and walked down the river. river was blown, and i knew my rod was just for decoration, but still a nice break.

and i include this pic just because i love the "patina" my sheath has developed over the years. i made it (i dunno) about 6 years ago from natural horsehide. it's a little big for the bk16 now (i plan to trim it and restitch it), but again...i just love the way it looks. ahhh leather. ;)

i'm double-dipping, as i posted this in the becker knife mod thread, but since i created this bk62 post, i figured i would keep it all together. i plan to add handle pics to this thread, as well.
...........

welp, i thought i was painting the house today, but it was raining, so i finally got around to starting my BK62 kephart project.

as i said in another post, i really like the knife. but, i want to put thicker scales on it. now, i don't have huge hands... size L gloves, but i don't consider my hands large, if you know what i mean. so, if i was going to make the handle thicker, my thought was i needed to make the handle shorter in height.

here was what my goal was....

i am pleased with how it turned out (pretty close), especially since this was my first attempt at removing steel from a finished knife. it is certainly not perfect, but it is good enough for "my knife". ;) and, i learned some things along the way.

now hopefully putting the handle together won't take me another 6 wks to get to.;)
