Man! These JRE guys are top notch. Couldn't ask for nicer people to deal with, and Spen is producing some of the highest quality (if not THE highest quality) leather I've seen.

This is a piggyback design to hold a Chopweiler, Swamp Warden, and firesteel. I wanted the ability to switch back and forth between a drop loop and dangler. Spen made the dangler piece in such a way that it folds flat behind the drop loop, so I can switch without having to remove the dangler. He also made the dangler such that if I really wanted to remove it, I could. It's done in a rich mahagony brown that I think looks dynamite with the sage knives.

I can't say enough about the quality of this thing. I hate comparing one maker to others, but this is the highest quality leather sheath I've owned. Top notch stuff. I have found my preferred leather worker.

Beautiful leather you have there! That piggyback feature looks flawless in design! Awesome setup!

JRE makes excellent leather products and Dan and Spen are two guys I can call friends. Here is a sheath that just fits my Scott Gossman Tusker perfectly. They really outdid themselves with this one.

Barkie sheaths have the steel holder on the knife edge side because of their design (folded one piece leather). Your sheath has the steel on the spine side. Because your sheath is top and bottom pieces of leather it could be on either side. Any particular reason one side or the other? Maybe it is easier to get to in the front.

I like the piggyback with the big knife and the scaleless necker. Gonna have to do something like that.

I love that chopweiler/warden combo. Look like they were made for that setup. Sweet leather too. They make great stuff.

Just a matter of taste I guess. I tend to like things where I can see them :) I can say that the firesteel fits very tight, and it probably is easier to pull it when it's in the front. I'm sure in application, it probably makes no difference. The one thing I can say for sure is I absolutely don't like the sheaths with the loop right in the main body of the sheath sticking out. I would think I would catch it on stuff all the time.

For siguy, here's the dangler system. He used a small profile D-ring. Unlike most danglers who's ring actually goes through the drop loop, he attached it inside the back of the drop loop. This way, I can still use the drop loop because the dangler can be folded nearly flat behind it. Sorry for the pictures being a little out of focus. I was holding it in my hand and the camera couldn't decide what to focus on.
