(Here you go edbeau.)

Here's a Kalinga with Black Micarta Handles that I got from the swap meet in that pile of knives... My first one... I'm not sure what year it came out... It will go to Leroy's, for a clean up and take out a few scratches on the handles...The blade looks unused... I could ues a better box for it, too... Anyone have one??? Let me know, Thanks... More to come, next week... Thanks for looking... ITE

They didn't date the Kalinga's? The knife is in great shape but will be better after Leroy, I am sure. I have a folding one with the rubber handles. I will be waiting for the "After Leroy" picture. Thanks for the picture.

The stuff you find makes me want to take a trip back out there! Congrats!

The Kalinga is a sweet, often over looked knife in my mind. I have an older user similar to that one which I look forward to taking afield when I get to hunt again.

ITE, Your Kalinga is 1972 (skip 73) thru 78 or 79 . They didn't follow the normal pattern. It has the pointed guard and black micarta handles. A 440C blade.A Good find! Thanks for the pictures.DM

That 401 is in pretty nice condition! Hinged boxes seem to be hard to come by but hopefully someone has a spare for you. My research says possibly as new as 1980 since the stamp is not inverted. Micarta was switched to Pakkawood in about 1981.

Thanks everyone, I really like this 401 Kalinga with the Micarta handles... If anyone has a spare old/new box for it, please let me know... Thanks again all, ITE
