I came across this new method of re-hafting tools and just had to share:

Surely we have finally learned the perfect method. Let me know if you agree.*

*In case you can't tell, I'm being facetious. Figured I might as well say that so that I don't get a bunch of hate mail. Then again, maybe some folks will be too enraged to notice this disclaimer and rush to respond. Those responses might be kinda funny. I guess we'll see.

I love how the fender washer does absolutely nothing to deal with the head falling off the OTHER way or rattling around in position. I genuinely think videos like that are rage-bait engagement farming lol

I'm assuming this is something funny but I don't have instantgram.

It's a how-to video showing a phony "hacK" to easily and firmly attach an adze head to a new haft. They first show you what not to do: driving nails and screws into the new haft and bending them over. Next, they show you how to drill a hole through the shaft of the handle (sorta like a pipe tomahawk), drill a perpendicular slot in the handle into which you can insert a nut. Then they insert a long screw into the hole, thread it through the nut in the slot, and tighten it down over a large steel washer. If it sounds overly complicated and absurd, then you are reading it correctly. As mentioned by 42 👇, this method may technically keep the head from flying forward off the haft, but it otherwise weakens the handle to the point of guaranteeing absolute destruction.

I would like to think it's a silly, tongue-in-cheek video intended to entertain. But you're probably right; rage-bait gets more clicks and interactions.

I've seen it in a YouTube short or something.
The people posting all this gimmicky impractical and sometimes downright dangerous " life hack " ( one of the most retarded terms / concepts ever ) nonsense aren't joking, but it's absolutely all just clickbait.
