Paid for the membership on 8/15/2012. Noted that it might take 3 days to process, but it has been about 5 now, so thought I would drop a note here.

Give it a few days. Spark might have to make the change manually. You'll be good to go when you have the private messaging enabled. Thanks for supporting the forums.
