Plop down in the easy chair with the new knife and the cigar box of paraphernalia.
Using a toothpick, Q-tip, and pipe cleaner every nook and cranny is cleaned.
Tuf-glide or maybe Break-free is worked into any areas where metal moves on metal.
Ren-Wax slathered on the handle.
A workout on the Sharpmaker or stones as needed
More Tuf-glide on all metal.
There is usually a big smile on my mug during this ritual.
What have I missed? Anything?

Knife lubes are nothing. It's the gun smells my wife can't stand. She just doesn't appreciate the allure of Hoppes 9, RemOil, and CLP.
