Spark has made some changes in the For Sale Forums to address the current requests from makers and suppliers to allow comments and not worry about how many threads are running. See the sticky at the very top of the For Sale pages to review the changes. I think this experiment will make things work.

If your thread is not where you think it should be, that is because they now are running by the date first posted...not the last date posted. Tech Support can give you info on how to deal with this and make some changes to the posting order and visibility. Subscribing to your own thread(s) is the easiest way to quickly check it.

The threads now post by the date of first posting. They roll down from there. All comments are welcome, but nothing will bump the thread back up. You can re-post a thread every two weeks to move it back to the top. Only the first post ( the item for sale) will re-post ( basically,as a new for sale thread ). There are ways to link the For sale threads in you signature line - ask Tech Support if you need help with that.

Lets stop and think of what the Makers For Sale area is for. It is where knifemakers can sell some of the knives they make or excess materials to help defray the cost of knifemaking. It was not initially intended to be a store for dealers. There is an Exchange Forum for manufacturers and dealers for that.....and the internet ,where you can have your web page and e-store. Most of the folks selling a knife or two, an old HT oven, or a fire starter kit will benefit from the changes, as this will make it better for those selling an individual item or a few items. Those selling the same item continually ( businesses and dealers) will have to re-post every two weeks....move to the Exchange....or get a personal Hosted Knifemakers Forum for your business ( They are right below the for sale listings).

Lets all give this a real try, and see if it works. The best way to make it work is to understand how it works.....and that starts by reading the rules. Take about 100 seconds to read them, and see what has changed (in red at the top, and lined out in the rules). If we all get a fresh start on this ,I think most of the problems will go away.

Comments and problems about the new system should go to Tech Support:

I like that plan. It might be tougher on some of the more slow to sell pieces but someone can always repost after the two weeks. On the other hand, it should help keep things more organized as well. Such a simple change but a huge difference.

Great idea. So. . .we can comment in the FS thread instead of having to find the same thread in the gallery. Sounds like a much better way of doing things.

Spark is also polling the makers about putting all the Knifemaker FS and FT threads in the Exchange forum. That way all possible buyers see all items for sale. There is a thread on this.

Hmmm...that's all I was waiting for, time to upgrade my account. Thank you for seeing the light.
