Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the holiday season! Haven't had a lot of free time to do much leather recently but did complete a new sheath, minimalist wallet, and belt I wanted to share.
Treated myself to a Les Voorhies / Faisal Yamin Simplex folder for my birthday last month. Of course a nice knife needed a nice sheath:
I finally found a great source for those who (like me) prefer a heavy poly thread. Typically I run 277 on top, 207 on the bobbin. Overkill, yes, but I really like thicker thread for most projects. Anyway, if you're like me, quality poly thread especially in the 277 weight is really hard to find. I found an outfit out of Utah called Superior threads that manufactures and sells it in all kinds of colors. So far, they are really living up their name. My machine loves it and so do I.
Next up was a new ultra minimalist wallet with shark body and warthog strap. I can't take credit for the concept, it was borrowed from a friend of mine who is quite a designer:
... and finally I had a friend who needed a good gun belt. This was made from a single piece of bridle leather which I estimate to be 12-13oz weight. It should last him a good long time.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a great 2017!
