Recently quite a few versions of the popular Imperial Schrade 152OT have been introduced by American manufacturers. One of those, the UCC Rigid RGO152MX-T Black Foot Hunter, seems to be the most innovative of the lot, not being really a copy of the classic Sharpfinger, but a truly updated version. Textoothpk posted a review a while back, and recently showed us the sheath he had custom made for his. UCC has changed the name now to "Bear Foot Hunter", and added a moulded nylon sheath much more fitting to the design.

Now, one might wonder who the innovator was of this new design. Gil Hibben? Some other custom maker/designer affiliated with Mr. Hall's Arrowhead Manufacturing? Would you believe the design (with minor tweaks) came straight from the sample room of Imperial Schrade? It was a design offered at about the same time as the 24OTX to Wal-Mart, but rejected.

This is a photo sample, and may be the only one in existance. Keep your eyes open for one. It is a shame they never made production because it is a good update of a classic design. And what might have been the flagship of a whole new line of updated Schrade Old Timers. Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Good question. If the knife is covered by a design patent that was property of ISC, it likely belongs to TBLLC, and may have been sent with licensing to United for production. Or.... it may yet show up on eBay. There could have been several made. Or it may have been destroyed after being rejected, but I doubt it. At any rate, I only have the photo of the sample.
