I know this has probably been a type of thread that pops up at least once a week, but my new order from knife center has left me in awe.

Okay lets start with the simple spyderco medium sharpmaker replacement stones. nothing special my old ones were chipped and I needed new ones, now I can get the edge I want on my knives again finally.

I also picked up some diamond sharpmaker stones. They work great and cut fast and I can now put a good backbevel and eventually maybe reprofile my knives. I also can finally sharpen out the chips and such in my blades.

Now for the gem and my new favorite knife. A Chris Reeve small sebenza 21 with micarta inlay. This knife is awesome. It opens butter smooth, much more smoothly than even my smoothest axis lock knife. The blade came rediculously sharp and was easily the sharpest knife, out of the box, I have ever handled. The micarta inlays offer a very good grip, I would have prefered plain titanium just for the price savings, but it was backordered and I like the micarta anyway. The fit and finish and tollerances are 100% hands down the best that I have ever seen. My jaw has never fully come back to its origional position after its initial drop. Even for someone with as little money as I have, being a recent highschool graduate with no time for a job, it was worth every penny.

I also got a super knife and a gerber pull through sharpener, as a promotion, but those will be family beaters so they dont ruin my good knives.

All in all I am extraordinarily pleased with my graduation present to myself.

ok here are some pics. I asure you it did happen. I apologize for the poor quality

Congrats on the small seb. There is one bad :D thing about a CRK for most

folks.... the 1st one is just the beginning of the end. 1 seb is never enough.

Nice pickup. It's always a good day when a Sebenza is in your mailbox! All very nice stuff.... except that Gerber pull through sharpener. There's a reason they give those away. Do yourself a favor and save yourself any future headaches and give that to someone you dislike or just put it somewhere and forget about it.

That's the truth. Or at least another CRK. I'm waiting on my second not even 2 weeks after my first purchase. :o

I wasnt planning on even opening it. I think it will go to some kid in troop. Unless it truely is not better than nothing...

It may work for something like a SAK or another thin edged blade, but I find those things eff edges up more than just using the knife regularly. I sharpen guys' knives at work all the time because they come in and tell me they bought this cool little sharpener at Home Depot and all you do is drag the blade through. You should see some of the aborted blades they bring to me. Not good. :thumbdn:

Anyway, sorry to get so far off topic of your original post. Enjoy that Sebenza! It probably won't be your last. You'll need a Large to accompany the Small soon enough. :D
