Here are some photos of my new Puuko. I decided to do something I don't normally do; that is treat myself to something a little nicer than lower-end but functional knives.

I'm happy with the purchase. It's helped me build some of my first shelters, fires and wood carvings in below freezing this year. Compared to the Eriksson Mora, it's much thicker in the spine, the handle has a smoother finish and the sheath is leather rather than plastic. I got it from this page, it's model #WJ-VI. Great service from Ragnar, the order shipped much earlier than I expected.

That's a good looking knife!

I like the handle. You can't go wrong with curly birch, brass, and reindeer antler. Is it comfortable? It seems to flair out quite a bit at the pommel.

I haven't seen that page before on Ragweed Forge. It must be a new line he started carrying. They all look very appealing. :)

The ergonomics are different than I'm used to. Holding the knife rear of the handle seems to push your hand forward, but when it's actually being used it's quite comfortable. I scoot my hand up just a bit more than I normally would and it works well that way. I would of liked the handle to be a little bit wider for added comfort.

I was planning on buying a Helle knife, but wanted to go with a brand I'd heard less (Read: Nothing) about. If they appeal to you, I'd order one and try them out. I'm tempted to order a Leukko now. :)

One note, mine came with a small secondary bevel. I'm going to use the knife until it needs sharpening, then bring it down to one bevel like other Scandi knives.

Nice blade, you must have grabbed the last one, they are out of stock according to the link.

Nice knife ! :) I admire those Puuko's , very old world and handsome.

I trust this one wont be seeing the 'ol cinder block ? :D

Depends. I've been pretty dedicated when it comes to not getting myself some low grit stones, so it just might.
