I just got this one in the mail yesterday. The photos don't do the wood any justice. The depth of curly zebrawood is incredible.
F/F is great for what Queen calls a working knife. I don't know why it was more expensive than the same model in amber carved stag bone, maybe the wood is more expensive.
Walk and talk is great with zero blade play in all three blades. Nice swedges on the blades as usual. I used it today to cut open a speaker and all blades are sharp. You can see from the pictures they were stropped. At 4 inches it sits well in the pocket and it will be good to have a stockman thats a larger size than my 3 1/4 EDC.
I like the new shield that is stamped instead of coined. Its pinned too.

If you have any Queens in curly zebra please post some up:thumbup:

DROOOOOLLL....
Same on the way-should be here tomorrow, along w/ two Country Cousins.
How's the edge(s)?

That looks really nice. Now I need to find funding so I can add one of these to my #9s in cocobolo and stag bone.

Very nice stockman. Theat Curly Zebra Wood Queen uses is really nice. I have it on the Queen Tear Drop I have. You didn't mention it but I assume the steel is D2.

Oh, you need to paint your porch.:)

Ditch, the edges were sharp as I used it to cut up Phenolic cloth as well as some tough paper cones. With that said I spent time on the edges last night to reprofile the main blades bevels. the other two blades were fine. I put a satin finish on the blades going from 150,320,and 400 grit emery cloth. The blades are D2 and have a "galling" look to them that I didn't care for. I do miss the etch though. I like the etches on Queen.
Ed, all the paint hasn't worn off yet. It's still too early:D
Thanks for all the comps guys. Todd, nice Case. I didn't know they used zebra wood. Is that an SFO?

Those stripes and colour almost make it look more like Tiger Wood:D:eek:

Nice specimen there  I was also surprised that the Zebra costs more than the Bone models.

I like the looks of new Queen CZ line. I not happy that Queen seems to have forgotten about their dog leg pattern for this series. I would have grabbed some in CZ for sure.

Jason, I think they omitted the Dogleg pattern in the Amber Carved Stagbone as well. I have one in the white Carved Stag Bone (wish I could find a Copperhead in that!)and it came out in the rather lacklustre Bird's Eye Maple.

Steve- It's not a SFO (at least to the best of my knowledge -not numbered, no "9" prefix on the Case Item No.).

That's correct. Case did a full line of curly zebra wood back in 2007. Patterns included the #54 trapper, Russlock, 2 blade razor, whittler, small lockback, peanut and muskrat. There may have been a couple more, my catalogs are back at my house, so I'm not sure.

That Queen in the OP is a doozy! I like that pattern, and that wood... droooool. A 4" slim stockman with fully rounded bolsters- oh yes.

I have a couple from the Cocobolo line. The BEM Queen's can be a bit unpredictable. I've had some that were great and others that had a pinkish tint that I didn't like.

That Queen CZ is very nice! While I love the looks of it, I don't have one in CZ.... yet. The small stockman looks good to me, and I have also been meaning to pick up a mountain man (in slipjoint version).

Very nice Case too!

Jason, is the dogleg you're referring to a stockman?
Nphelps, if the small stockman is anything like my MM it's one nice knife.

The dog leg is a 2 bladed knife. One of my cocobolo dog legs is the top knife.

I wasn't sure. Sometimes they call stockmans dogleg I think, like the Schatt Ed just got.
Nice jack. I like the Cocobola. One of my first knives when I started getting serious about collecting was one of those Rolox's in Cocobola.
