Just received my first Randall. Been waiting over two years for it. I ordered direct from Randall. Put $20 on it here, $20 on it there during the wait.

Randall Model 1
8" O1 blade
Brass guard and butt cap
Lanyard hole
Green Border Patrol micarta handle
Red, White and Blue handle spacers

This is one sweet knife. Great balance and handling. Very quick knife for as long as it is. Perfect fit and finish. Feels very "alive" in the hand during maneuvers.

Not sure if it will be a user but it sure isn't a "safe queen". Already bounced off the living room floor a couple times after a few Guinness drafts :).

All in all, well worth the wait. Not too expensive either when you pay it off over 2 + years.
 
Nice score, V-1. I have an 8 incher in stag and carbon steel, and it is one quick knife for it's size. At 46, I seriously doubt I'll take it to war, lol, but a lot of guys use them as camp knives. They're awesome.

Yeah... don't mess with your good knifes when you're buzzed. Take it from me. I have a few scares from doing that. ;)

Edit: Make that "scars", in addition to scares...:rolleyes:
 
I've been thinking about putting my name on the list, but I think I would burst if I had to wait that long... I was willing to pay a premium, but not at twice the price.

Dammit, Damned if you do, and Damned if you don't...

I was thinking about a Cold Steel R-1, and although it looks like a Randall, and it smells like a Randall, it ain't no Randall.
 
Hey V1! Gary Randall told me he couldn't make a border patrol handle shape out of green micarta, it was too thin. How did you get him to do it?

Bruce, I emailed you some pictures.

Not sure about the handle. Maybe they had the material in stock when I placed the final order. You could change the knife and/or options up to three months before ship date. I think that was the time frame.

It'd be quicker ordering one from a dealer, that's for sure. My wife gave me a gift certificate towards one, so the wait wasn't too bad.

Cut up some venison and beef since the last post. Looks like it's a user. I'm liking it more and more.
