Hey guys,

I'm busy trying to put a Randall order together. I've pretty much decided on a #1, probably 8 inches (or 7) but I can't decide which handle. I keep going round and round....

I'm thinking either the standard handle with finger grooves, the Border Patrol or the Single Finger Grip....

It's driving me crazy trying to make up my mind! :(

Any suggestions?

Thanks to a post from Lunde, my next number 1 is going to have the #14 finger grooves on stacked leather. I think we have our hearts set on the same blade to be honest :D 8" would be my choice as well.

I haven't fallen for the border patrol handle yet, though i bet its comfy.

border patrol or cammando with lugged hilt, I have one with Custom ironwood. Beautiful

Agreed, lugged hilts are BA!

#1-8 ST/SNT stag w/lugged hilt - and #1-8 SS w/Commando Ironwood handle and lugged hilt

Good choices!

Mark I like a straight handle personally as it really sets off the lines of the model 1. However you cannot go wrong with a BP.

Am I bringing this one back for you?;)

Standard or Border. If you've never held one, try the single groove before you buy, my hand hates it.

Do you have any Model 1's already?

What handle material are you going to use?

If so, get something different this time.

Otherwise, I would suggest Leather with Finger Grooves.

A Model #1 in stacked leather with finger grooves, a stainless steel blade, a nickel-silver double hilt, black and aluminum metal spacers, and a lanyard makes for a very nice knife and still comes in within the current five option limit - add a no-cost rounded/radiused aluminum end cap and an optional sheath upgrade (black, waxed, etc.) and you'll be set...

^^^^^^^

Do this!!!!!

I've got some new one's I haven't photographed yet, but this one is similar - just replace the sawteeth with a lanyard hole and you'll get the picture...
