Are there any tips or tricks to center these specific knives?
I know they seem to have relatively tight tolerances, being that there are 6 mounting points including the pivot.

I have tried the usual ways of using a paper wedge and holding the blade over to the locking side while tightening the screws from bottom to top.
Does anything work better on the Rat 1?

Also this model does not have 5 washers like my other one, could this cause the centering issue?

My CF version came perfectly centered but the tan plastic handled one is off to the non-locking side. Tried the usual methods as well and nothing works

Hi guys,

Off hand, I would say that these should be the same as any other RAT folder. Let me try to bring this to the attention of someone more knowledgeable.

All my RAT1 have 4 washers. My guess is that they add an extra washer during the assembly to correct any (significant) off center issues.
Also, I think that would be the only way to center the tip between the liners. I have disassembled and reassembled my RATs many times and order in which I was tightening the screws didn't matter. The only time I couldn't get it centered was when I omitted one of the teflon washers.

jderry,

Please call customer service at Ontario (800) 222-5233. They can walk you through some steps or they will give you authorization to send it in for repair or replacement.
Hope this helps.
