Servus!

What's up everybody? So I'm new to the fixed blade world and the last two months I've been researching a good all around knife. Most sites I checked up on mention RAT RC's but I never really paid attention. I was stuck on the KA BAR, they say its a good knife( fighting, utility,) but I wanted full tang.

So I ordered up a RC-3 2 weeks ago and have been edc'ing it. I trust it in any kind of mode. Ive read nothing but good things about Rat cultlery and I fell in love with them. I carry it on my left side if I have a pistol on me. I love it, great quality and I like the way it hugs the body. Usually I carry a ken onion leek, but in the past two years I went through 3 of them. Then I switched to the spyderco paramilitary and that's my fav folder but the Rc-3 I feel better suits me. A few days ago I ordered up an Rc-5 and Izula which arrived today. Why the heck do the izulas not have a belt clip made for it? I think it needs it, even with the kit. I wrapped it and it feels great, just wish it had a belt clip like the Rc-3. The 5... is a big goddamn knife, I feel like I can hack off limbs with it! I know it's made for for downed pilots but I just really had to have one.. Just in case. Some of you know what I mean!

Next week I'm either going to order the Rc-6 or Sog navy seal elite.
But Im super happy with my Rats now and I need them all....
 
welcome, glad you like the rat products. they are a super good company with great products and great customer service, I don't think I will ever regret buying their products!
 
Izula- tec loks, molle clips, modified steel rc5 clip, paracord, lots of belt options.

And welcome :).

Also, pretty sure kabars are full tang, the pommel is pinned into it great knives to have around for a low cost
 
maybe we can talk with ksf and see if they can produce a leather sheath with a metal boot clip on it.
 
Welcome to the RC forum, and congrats on your purchases, you made some great choices! RC-3 is a wonderful blade to EDC, so is the Izula. The RC-5 is one tough beast, eh? Great for when you only have one blade and you need it to be a prying tool too.

Welcome to the dark side :)

I've found that attaching a MOLLE clip to the Izula sheath allows you to horizontal carry on your belt :)
 
Welcome Blacklupo, I'm new to RATs as well and have been very impressed as well. About the KA-bars I don't think they are technically full tang (please correct me if I'm wrong), but more like a stick tang, which is why when they break its usually where the blade meets the tang. Their Becker line is full tang though.
 
Welcome sir. I came to RAT forum in October and haven't left since. Too much good info and too many good folks around here to leave. Still learning stuff every day.
 
I've made a belt clip sheath out of kydex but it hasn't generated much interest. IMO neck carry is the way to go for the Izula but it is a very versatile knife that will carry almost anywhere. Enjoy you're RAT's!
