Recently worked some deals to get my 1st Rats.
Made a purchase of a Ratmandu sage/black micarta Coyote Azwelke kydex tonite.
Can't wait to finally get one in my hand to check it out

Made a super trade for this Rodent 4 with Black Azwelke Kydex this past week.
VERY happy with my trade!! The Azwelke Kydex is awesome!
The knife has the right feel and proportions......love it!

Have a question.......
Has anyone ever sent a knife back they traded or bought from another member
to get mods?
Say change Micarta to G10

Never thought I'd ever own a Bussekin.....never thought I could afford em.
After starting out with Becker and Esee.....I feel I've reached my final level.

You are not at the "final level", just at the top... for now. Nothing against the fine cutlery that you already have. They're great knives. I have them too. But, I have my RMD and other Busse family stuff. Busse kin. So, as some models are no longer "born", new ones will come. The top. That's all. Put the steel to work. You'll know.
 
Congrats on the Rodent 4! I personally like it as much...if not more than...the Ratmandu :foot: PERFECT ergos for a utility knife. Use her well!

Sold off my Esee and Becker stuff long ago.
The only other stuff I own is Benchmade now.
This is as high of a level I'll get to....all I can afford.
Busse Combat is outta my league but I'm good with Swamp Rat.

Yes, you can send the knives to SRKW to have scales exchanged, sharpening job, even regrinds. Just send an email to Custom Shop and girls will let you know how to proceed.

Ahhhhh yes my other question....(getting old)
The Ratmandu I bought is claimed to be a 2nd gen....
What generation are they up to now and how do you tell which is which?
 
The first gen RMDs had a rounded clip portion on the spine, the later ones are flat on the clip portion.

Don't ever feel under knifed because you have a Swamp Rat and not a Busse. I highly doubt anyone could ever tell the difference in any department other than corrosion resistance. I prefer the designs of the Rats much more than the Busses so I just don't purchase Busse blades because its not an improvement and to me is a loss because I think the Swamp has superior designs.
