I am an avid outdoorsman- love going hiking, fishing, backpacking, camping, etc. Normally, I'd take my Benchmade Nimravus lashed to my pack as my fixed blade. I also carry a SOG Flash 2. Well, a short while ago, I had an epiphany where it would behoove me to carry a hi-vis handled knife for multiple reasons such as if I drop it on the ground at night, I could easily find it and so people wouldn't freak out seeing that I am carrying a knife. Story slightly shortened, I began a search for a knife that I liked and would suit my needs.
I came across RAT knives a long time ago but dismissed them because it seemed ridiculous to me to drop the kind of money on when then they are made 1095 steel. But, as time passed, I became more open to them. I did a bit of research on the various models and decided on the RC-4P OD blade and orange handles. I came to like the color scheme and the blade shape, drop point and with a choil. I scoured online to find the cheapest price and after that I tried ebay to see what was up. To sum the search up, I ended up winning a new RC-4 just how I wanted it for dirt cheap plus free shipping.

I've had it for about a week now and my impression of it is that I love it. I haven't really used it persay, but I have taken it with me on a hike. Its first task is when I go on a fishing trip for trout in June. I like how I can choke the blade with the choil and still have enough cutting edge. I was slightly surprised at the handle as I thought it would be more rough, but its not a biggie.
Now I'm looking at RC-6s, lets see what I can find :D

Welcome! My RC4 has become my constant companion. The knife really grows on you as you use it more and more. They did a fantastic design and production job on the knife, but they didn't drop the ball on the sheath either.

gotta love that orange g10! im hopin that s my next purchase, and welcome to the pack
