New RAT owner and quick question

My first RAT knife (RC-4) came today! Couldn't be happier, it's outstanding.

Quick question though: I'm trying to remove the screw from "Hole #3" as indicated on the instructions and move it to the "Hole #2" position because I plan to use the 550 cord as a belt loop. The screw comes out no problem but for some reason the female part won't budge. I tried pushing it out, prying it out, and managed to scrape it up while trying to pull it out. Am I doing something wrong, or am I just an idiot? or both?

Put the screw back in about 3 turns then while supporting the sheath, tap the screw with a hammer or other hard object. The post should pop right out.

I considered this but was afraid that I'd strip the threads. I'll give it a go.
